Rosacea
Rosacea – symptoms and best possible treatment
Rosacea is a very common skin disease which is affecting on more and more people. However, despite being much spread, the disease still causes a lot of worry due to the little information which most of the people have.
Basically, Rosacea is a diseases characterized with redness of the skin. And as the skin is the largest organ in the human’s body- different parts of it could be affected. Anyway, Rosacea usually causes redness of the skin on the face, chest and back. Many people seem to make no difference between this disease and acne. They are pretty similar in actually but a good dermatologist will notice the difference from the very first second, he or she looks at the affected area of the skin.
So, if you find acne-like redness anywhere on your body, you should immediately consult a doctor. Why immediately? Of course, because it is normal to look for help as soon as you notice a problem but there is one more thing- postponing visiting a dermatologist could lead to worsening the situation which includes really bad discomfort (bothering with pain), increasing the size of the affected area and others.
Of course, noticing that there is a problem is very important. But once it’s been proved that you are suffering from Rosacea, there is something else which immediately becomes the priority: the treatment! Basically, if your dermatologist is good, further examinations will be required but they are not always needed. Actually, there are not many ways for treating Rosacea but the good news is that the treatment used nowadays is pretty effective.
But how is the diseases cured? How is the person treated? If these questions needed to be answered, then their answer would look like that: “Rosacea is not really curable”. But that answer should not throw anyone into panic since the case is not the way it sounds. All dermatologists officially claim that the disease cannot be treated since it may emerge again even after the redness had disappeared once. But the good thing is that there is almost no person who cannot be affected by the methods used for reducing the redness. Actually, this method is so useful that many people find themselves without any redness, which is their greatest joy, especially if the affected area was a part of the face.
But which are these “methods” for reducing the redness? Of course, it is an important issue which needs to be discussed. Basically, these are pulse light, laser intervention but, more often, photodynamic therapy is preceded. It cannot be claimed which method of treatment is most helpful since different people (and skins) are affected differently by those. For example, some people’s redness reduces a lot after laser intervention but other’s is hardly affected. So, it depends pretty much on the skin. That’s why always a dermatologist needs to recommend the best possible treatment for Rosacea.
